Four Generations

GREG,  this one's for you!

Lazy day Sunday

A quiet day spent pouring over photo's searching for inspiration and came upon this one.....

This is my rendition.....

Quantum Entanglement

def:  A holistic domain located outside spacetime, but connected through quantum thread/channel to everywhere in spacetime enabling quantum entanglement.

To those of you, like me, who share a curiosity in interconnectedness, metaphysics, parapsychology, and spirituality, I suggest you might enjoy this paper.  Here is the link:  http://www.quantumbrain.org/Entanglement.pdf

I first read this thesis in 2007, and it blew me away.  My formal education had not been based in science, etc……or remotely connected, yet I clearly understood this theory; almost as if a part of my ancient history, biology, my energetic memory reclaimed itself.   "Boggled in clarity" is the best phrase I can come up with to describe what I was realizing!

Prior to this.....I had been focusing on a title that would convey meaning to a new series of wearable art I had been working on. A title that reflected the emotions churning, more of an angst at that time.....and it had to do with nature.....the Ocean to be more specific, also.... human disease, cancer.  Particularly those found in women.  (Gaia, birth, evolution...)

as depicted in these photo's.

To this day I still find it difficult to language my connection with this research, except through art,   For when I'm creating in this state of primitive understanding…it is cathartic, cyclical, hopeful, and promising.

Nothing more, nothing less, than simple, humble creative expressions - offered as homage to sacred consciousness.  Confirmation of evolution spinning itself in the right direction......
love.
This thesis gave it perspective for me, and I pay it forward.

Following my bliss

...........sketching and painting into the wee hours.

Face, goldfish and headpiece were hand sketched and under-painted by me prior to scanning into Photoshop.  I enjoy combining digital techniques along with my original drawings.  The illusion of water was added by using a background texture via Oceans_by_NestR, thus completing the effect I was after.

For Sophiella

I began this one quite a few posts ago where the original sketch can be seen.  I'm combining several different techniques. As I continue working this piece I'll add photo's of the changes.

Sketching with my boy

I've not sketched in weeks, and last night I came across a photo that inspired me to pick up my pad and pencil. I also had company....my grandson spent the night and decided to sketch along with me. Here is the photo that I found so interesting, the beginning of my rendition, and Jakes.
His will be framed and hung with pride!!! ;-)

Acrylics tonight

Still lots to do on this one. I am in my glory when I have chunks of time to disappear into these pieces as they tell me stories beyond my own.

more red and turquoise

Why do these colors possess me soooooo?  Perhaps my gypsy~mermaid soul.

rainy day

A recently painted face, and a window texture via vintage mementos on flickr.

Mixed media

The eye area of one of the portraits I'm working on.  I've used as many different mediums as I could get away with on this painting including Spackle.  Next I'm putting on the WAX (thanks Judy!!!!;-)
Details are more difficult to achieve with all of the texture, but I'm finding myself more intrigued by the textures than the actual features.

thunder, lightening, and hail

It's raining,
it's pouring,
the weather here
sure isn't
boring!!!! ;)

Looks like we (those of us here in South Florida) will enjoy one more hurrah this weekend in terms of cooler weather, thanks to today's storm.  YEAH!
I've had the absolute pleasure of spending much of the last two days catching up on Misty's video's, and OMG............that girl is on fire!!!!

Inspiration is an understatement!

I'd like to plan a week long getaway with just my art supplies (which also include chocolate and wine:), iPad, and nothing else but time.

The painting below became the inspiration for this sketch.  This makes piece #4, sketched, primed, and ready for paint.

Pondering Poetry

Prayer

It doesn't have to be
the blue iris, it could be
weeds in a vacant lot, or a few
small stones; just
pay attention,

then patch

a few words together and don't try
to make them elaborate, this isn't
a contest but the doorway

into thanks, and a silence in which
another voice may speak.

The Old Poets of China

Wherever I am, the world comes after me.
It offers me its busyness. It does not believe
that I do not want it. Now I understand
why the old poets of China went so far and high
into the mountains, then crept into the pale mist.

Today's pencil sketch
on corrugated cardboard.  Anything that accepts lead, or charcoal is fair game when the mood strikes.

I'm juggling at least four different things, almost simultaneously. Writing, reading, drawing, painting, making a huge mess in my studio, and enjoying every minute of it.

There is not one day that goes by without teaching me something new.  Thank goodness!

oil and acrylics

Here is a perfect example of what NOT to do when using mixed media.  Oil, and acrylics do not play well together.  I'm not sure what I used during the collage process, as I was in that euphoric state of creativity,  grabbing for anything and everything.

Finally, after the third or fourth application of paint, and glue, I submitted to the fact that nothing was adhering, including.....the deeper lesson (?)

So...   I washed off the layers  losing much of the water color paper, along with many pieces of collage, but salvaging what I needed! (thanks for the fabulous tip my dearest Misty)

Then decided to share this mess as the perfect model of the aphorism.."art imitating life,"

Ahhhhhh........ therein lies the lesson.   Don't give up!!!! ;-) XOXO'ssssssssss

Love and compassion
